Drop-off and Pick-up Policy:

  • Children can be dropped off only starting at 7:40 am. Children are not allowed on campus before that. Please follow the drop-off traffic pattern for your child.

  • Please, do not drop your child off in the fire lane in front of the school. Not only does it increase the possibility of a collision, but it violates fire code. If you stop in the fire lane during drop off, you will be asked to move along to the parking lot.

  • Our doors open for drop off at 7:45 am and students will go directly to their classroom. All classes start at 8:00 am and if students are not at their desks and ready to learn, they will be considered tardy.

  • Children will be available for pick-up at 3:30 pm. The pick-up area is north of the modulars. Please use the below traffic flow below.  Students will remain behind the fence and be released by teachers as parents arrive.  If you are parking and walking in to pick up your child, please enter through the east gate and walk to the pick up area.  Parents of Kindergarten students can enter through the Kinder gate to sign their Kindergarten students in and out.

  • Any children not picked up by 3:45 pm, unless you have made prior arrangements with the teacher or the office, will be taken to the office.

  • If pick up does not occur by 4:00 p.m., Child Protective Services will be called, who will pick up the child.

Attendance and Absences:

Research has shown that 90% attendance is crucial for children's learning in school, and that frequent absences are educationally detrimental. Students are expected to attend classes unless they are temporarily ill or injured, have an appointment related to physical or mental health, or have a family emergency. If your student will be missing 3 days or more of school for reasons unrelated to illness, you can complete and sign The Pre-Arranged Absence Form and submit it to the office prior to the first absence and request those days be excused. Completing the Online Absence Report Form or the Pre-Arranged Absence Form is requested and appreciated, but it is not a guarantee that the requested dates will be excused. With the goal being 90% attendance, students below a 90% attendance rate may not be excused for absences unrelated to temporary illness or injury, an appointment related to physical or mental health, or a family emergency. According to School District 51 Policy, "The school reserves the right to determine whether an absence will be excused or unexcused." Once a student between 6 and 17 years old has reached 10 Unexcused absences, we will send the 10 Unexcused Absence Letter and schedule a meeting with parents and Administration to create and implement a Student Attendance Plan. We encourage your student’s attendance to support their long-term academic success. Communicating with the office each day your student is absent from school is important. You can communicate with us about absences either by phone or on our website:

  1. Call us at (970) 986-8219. If we miss your call, be sure to leave a detailed voicemail including your student’s full legal name and the reason for their absence.

  1. Online by visiting our website at: https://www.juniperridgeschoolco.org/ Simply click on the Absence report form (image shown below) then you can complete our online attendance form in a few minutes at any time.

For more information regarding our Tardy, Absence and Missed Work Policy, please refer to our Family Handbook.

Visiting the School:

We realize that there are occasions when parents would like to visit their child’s classroom. Visitors are welcome to our classrooms. In order to arrange a visit, please follow these guidelines:

Please, no unannounced drop-ins. Our daily classroom rhythm is a finely structured,
orchestrated routine. Lessons are an interplay between teacher and students, and student to student. Obviously, a visitor is not engaged in the work and flow of the classroom. As a result, an unexpected visitor can unnecessarily distract both the teacher and students. For this reason, we ask parents to respect the teachers’ request to be able to prepare the students for a visitor who is known by some and a stranger to others.

Please do the following when setting up a classroom visit:

  • Speak with the teacher prior to the day you wish to visit. You may contact the teacher with your request by phone, email or directly (after school only, please).

  • If you find that you have questions during your visit, please reach out to the teacher or a member of administration after your visit to the classroom has concluded.
